Insurance Account Representative Job Opportunity in Pittsfield, MA

Salary: $44k - $60k (DOE)

Location: Pittsfield, MA

F/T Hours: 8a-5p, flexible


TEC is recruiting for a full-service insurance agency representing several the of finest insurance carriers in the country. As an Insurance Account Representative, you will use your strong communication skills to answer calls and properly handle customer inquiries, explain insurance coverage, provide support to senior staff, update policies, and perform administrative tasks.


Insurance Account Representative Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing, servicing, and processing insurance accounts of personal and commercial clients, including preparing insurance applications, obtaining & reviewing quotes, binding insurance policies, checking policies, rating, and rewriting policies
  • Processing of incoming insurance renewals, new business, rewrites, endorsements, cancellations, and managing insurance claims
  • Gathering information from insurance clients and explaining/advising clients on insurance coverage and cross-selling other services
  • Resolving insurance clients’ issues and questions
  • Developing strong, professional relationships with insurance clients and insurance company representatives


Administrative Duties:

  • Have a strong base knowledge of the organization and knowing enough to ask certain questions to the clients to best serve them
  • Answer all incoming calls and transfer to the appropriate person
  • Screen phone calls, ask appropriate questions and gather appropriate information
  • Schedule appointments for clients
  • Correctly enter information into the database about the clients
  • File and manage client records
  • Respond to general emails
  • Provide support to President and other staff
  • General clerical support such as typing, photocopying, and distributing mail
  • Oversee the waiting room, maintain the waiting room area, order office/maintenance supplies and maintain a clean and professional environment
  • Manage marketing materials and social media advertisements for the agency
  • Other duties as needed


Candidate Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts property and casualty license. (Strongly Preferred)
  • 2 years experience working in insurance. (Strongly Preferred)
  • Strong customer service skills with prior experience
  • Demonstrated job stability
  • Solid computer (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint), grammar, and multi-tasking skills. (Writing sample required during interview)
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and decision-making skills
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Preferred
  • Be a team player, be able to handle a full workload and lend a hand to other team members when needed
  • Good customer, telephone & processing skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge of insurance agency management software (EPIC/ Applied Cloud) & insurance rating software (training will be provided if needed)
