HR & Membership Manager Job Opening in Pittsfield, MA

Location:  Pittsfield, MA

Position Type:  Direct Hire 

Salary:  $50-52k.

Hours:  32-40 hours/week depending on season after the yearly pay


TEC is recruiting for an HR & Membership Manager at a highly respected local sports club. This person will have HR responsibilities and managing existing and new members and their experience.


JOB DUTIES:


Human Resources Generalist:

Recruiting & Onboarding:

  • Plan and execute recruitment strategies
  • Screen applicants and conduct preliminary employment interviews with selected candidates 
  • Ensure that new employees complete necessary employment forms, maintain employee personnel files and conduct new employee orientation
  • Coordinate all employee record-keeping functions in accordance with federal and state requirements and assure compliance with these laws and regulations
  • Benchmark the club’s employee recruitment and selection processes with others in the industry and explores new strategies as appropriate 
  • Develop forecasts of short- and long-term staffing needs 


Policy and Procedure:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of applicable policies and procedures
  • Continually review and update the employee handbook and personnel-related policies, maintain club policy manual and ensure website is up to date
  • Schedule and conduct club-wide employee safety meetings 
  • Maintains OSHA-related logs and reports as required by law 


Management & Benefit Administration:

  • Responsible for marketing and social media posts related to hiring and promoting the club 
  • Conduct/review wage and benefit surveys & propose employee benefits enhancements to the General Manager
  • Coordinate, monitor and suggest improvements for the club’s employee performance appraisal system
  • Coordinate the development and publication of employee newsletter
  • Process & generate various labor staffing reports 
  • Develop and maintain a library of training resources specifically designed for each position & coordinate with each department head
  • Manage the club’s group insurance, unemployment and related benefits programs; communicates benefits information to staff 
  • Establish employee motivation and retention programs 
  • Work with Events Manager and organize employee recognition functions and special events 
  • Interact with CEO and department heads regarding personnel issues and investigate employee violations of club policies and recommend correction actions 
  • Compile and adhere to departmental budget; takes corrective actions as necessary to help assure that budget goals are met 
  • Oversee all work-related injury claims to ensure integrity, ongoing case management and reporting compliance 


Membership Manager

  • Act as the liaison between all members and the club
  • Maintain the club’s membership database and on-line membership directory 
  • Develop and ensure that established procedures for processing prospective members’ applications are consistently followed per the club’s guidelines; assist prospective members in fulfilling application requirements 
  • Plan and implement strategies to meet club membership goals 
  • Conduct tours for prospective members and establish rapport with new & existing members.
  • Conduct orientation program for new members
  • Execute prospective member functions proposed by the Membership Committee.
  • Manage & develop strategies to increase sales with the membership classifications to ensure member mix is established
  • Serve on applicable club committees to assure members’ interests are consistently addressed
  • Conduct annual club survey and effectively responds to member comments in accordance with club standards, policies and rules, ideas, feedback and suggestions to continuously improve the services provided to members 
  • Survey other clubs for information useful in setting and revising club membership policies 
  • Attend events to assist in meeting and greeting members and guests as needed 
  • Complete other appropriate assignments and tasks requested by the CEO and management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field
  • At least 3 years experience in the field of HR and management
  • Computer knowledge required
  • Ability to attend events if needed
