Maintenance Staff Job in Pittsfield, MA

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pay: $20.50-21/hour

Location: Pittsfield, MA

Hours: Flexible in hours between 8am and 5pm

TEC is assisting in the recruitment for a local nonprofit to have a Maintenance Staff Member join their current maintenance team. This employee would perform a variety of maintenance tasks such as renovation and repair of buildings, facilities, office furniture, and more. Travel and a valid driver’s license are required in this role. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Follow instructions and communicate clearly and concisely with colleagues and supervisors to ensure all work orders are completed safely, timely and correctly
• Perform building maintenance and repair infrastructure of buildings throughout Berkshire County 
• Perform maintenance on office furniture and lighting fixtures
• Operate a variety of tools (hand tools and power tools) and equipment used in building and construction competently and safely
• Perform moderately heavy manual labor
• Observe safety principles and work in a safe manner.

Job Qualifications:

• Ability to lift, push, pull, etc. heavier objects varying in weight
• High school diploma required, Vocational degree preferred
• 3 years of experience and knowledge of maintenance processes required
• Valid driver’s license to travel to different facilities required
• Knowledge of OSHA or safety procedures required
• Time management and ability to work independently required
• Effective and excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills required
• Ability to pass a CORI check and DMV check
• Trade license in some sort of professional field highly preferred.
