Safety Coordinator – Direct Hire

Salary: $58,000 - $68,000

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8A-5PM

TEC Staffing is recruiting for a Power Plant that promotes production of sustainable, renewable energy from waste.

Position Summary:

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing on going safety at work for all employees, contractors, and visitors. The main responsibility is to ensure that the company complies with current OSHA guidelines to reduce work related injuries. The ideal candidate will be a doer, with a positive attitude, someone who can maintain a good balance of assertiveness and willingness to get the job done. Safety Coordinator must be willing to travel between two locations.

Responsibilities:

• Review, update, and implement OSHA policies and guidelines as needed
• Participate in new hire orientation to familiarize individual with policies and procedures prior to starting position
• Prepare and implement training to current employees
• Coordinate, track and monitor on going hearing & health testing
• Conduct periodic safety inspections, document results, and implement corrective action plans as necessary
• Prepare and present reports on accidents, violations, and determine causes

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or relevant experience
• Current knowledge of legislations and procedures locally, regionally, and federally
• Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials and best practices
• Problem solver
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, willing to work with the entire team from operators to executives, maintaining equal regard and respect for everyone
• Excellent in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, & Word)
• Excellent organization Skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license (Time will be split between 2 locations)
