Schedule: Mon-Thurs. 6a-3:30p, Friday 6a-10a
Job Summary
Performs the operations necessary for the assembly of cable assemblies and box build from prepared documentation.
Core Responsibilities
- Utilizes and provides care of hand tools, soldering irons, and operates G presses and other semiautomatic tooling. Must have the knowledge to locate hand tools and applicators as specified in the process documentation package.
- Operates crimping tools and inserts contacts into connectors per the specified pin out in the documentation package.
- Utilizes solder pot to tin wires.
- Utilizes documentation package to manufacture cables and box build assemblies.
- Consistently performs class III work.
- Maintains an organized and clean work area at all times.
- Reports and documents time worked accurately.
- Communicates effectively and works effectively with co-workers.
- Arrives to workstation promptly and works overtime as required.
- Adherence to company annual goals and KPI’s as set forth by management.
- Perform additional task as needed.
Education and/or Experience
High School Graduate or GED.
Mathematics Ability: Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to write or share work information with other employees.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Will be trained to the IPC 620 standard with eventual certification.
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of PC operations.
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this role involve a moderate level of activity, with standing, walking, and sitting required for approximately one-third to two-thirds of the time. Frequent use of hands for handling, as well as reaching with hands and arms, is necessary within the same time range. Minimal physical exertion is needed for climbing or balancing, as these are not required. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is expected, accounting for less than one-third of the time, along with occasional talking or hearing. The position involves lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds on rare occasions. Vision requirements include close vision for tasks requiring clear sight within 20 inches and the ability to distinguish colors accurately.
Work Environment
The work environment for this position involves occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and a slight risk of electrical shock, both occurring less than one-third of the time. The noise level in the workplace is generally moderate, requiring normal precautions for maintaining focus and communication. While some interaction with machinery or electrical components may be necessary, these risks are minimal and can be managed with proper safety protocols. The overall environment is stable, with no extreme conditions expected.
