Salary: $25-$28/hr

Hour: Mon- Friday 7am-3:30pm

Tasks:

• Operates excavators and other heavy machinery according to best practices and safety standards
• Inspects excavator and related equipment each day to ensure properly loaded, functioning as well as need for maintenance.
• Clean and prepare sites to eliminates hazards
• Follow instructions, guidelines and prints from Foreman and or utility company
• Assist Laborers when needed to backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers or rakes
• Load, unload or identify materials, machinery or tools, distributing them to the appropriate job sites
• Measure, mark or record opening o distances to layout area where construction work will be performed
• Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, sing saws, hammers, nails or bolts
• Understand and be aware of Laborers signals assisting to facilitate alignment, movement or adjustment of machinery equipment or materials
• Prepare trucks and equipment for each day’s tasks, ensure all necessary tools are stocked on trucks.
• Clean and maintain truck, equipment and machinery
• Assist with pouring, smoothing and setting of asphalt around newly set manholes
• Restore landscaping after dig ups, rake, seed and fence areas.

Qualifications

• 2A license required
• Current Medical Examiners Certificate
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
• CDL a plus but not a requirement
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating an excavator
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow instructions and provide full attention to task at hand
• OSHA 10 certificate
• Ability to pass drug test/background check
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with operating hand tools
• Available for overtime when needed
• Positive attitude and puts safety first.
