Quality Assurance Manager in Berkshire County
Salary: $70k-$90k
Shift: 7a-3p (1st shift)
Job Summary:
Responsible for the development, application and maintenance of all quality control systems for inspecting incoming product, raw material, in process materials and products to finished products. Plans, organizes and manages the development of test plans, prepares test data and subsequent testing of all products. Responsible for handling First Article Reports of all production for initial customer tests prior to general release. Schedule and control the workflow through the Quality Department. Direct the quality staff so that the customer requirements and production schedules are met. Advises management of quality issues prior to product release and recommends changes. Supervise and manage assigned personnel to include interviewing, counseling, discipline, performance appraisals, department objectives and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Offer support to the quality group by way of a creative environment, conflict remediation, educational resources, and industrial exposure.
Essential Job Duties:
- Establish Quality and reliability standards for each Item produced by studying product, communicating with customer, engineering, and processing. When possible, quality standards should be developed prior to production runs being started by participating in Program (Design) Reviews.
- Coordinate with Process Development to determine acceptable quality levels during sample and pilot runs and establish standards for disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods and procedures.
- Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures, collaborating with other members of management to develop new product design, manufacturing processes and training methods.
- Establish and maintain product quality documentation system, including corrective action system.
- Prepare annual budget for Quality Control department and contribute to development of annual business plan by controlling quality cost and approving all internal and contractual expenditures as it relates to quality
- Leads/facilitates all efforts for the ISO programs and all customer quality programs
- Interface with customers and assist sales relating to quality issues.
- Complete Quality Control department’s operational requirements by recruiting, selecting, training and scheduling employees and following up on work results.
- Coordinate and enforce operational procedures.
- Counsel, monitor, and appraise job results through management reviews.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.S. Engineering or sciences or work experience.
- Experience: 5-10 years performing quality function in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge, Skills and Ability: ISO 9000 and quality system background with supervisor skills.
