Recertification Specialist, Direct Placement Job in Berkshire County

Salary: $40k

Schedule: Mon-Fri: 8:30a-4p

The Recertification Specialist is responsible to assist Public Housing Management in the task of recertification and income changes for the Federal and State Developments for all property activities related to compliance with the lease at an assigned development(s).

Essential Job Duties:

• Recertification of Federal and State low income elderly/disabled and family tenants per regulations and guidelines
• Perform all clerical tasks associated with verification of income and household composition
• Assist tenants that come in for income adjustments or changes in household composition
• Provide social service referrals for households in crisis
• Update tenant files
• Type memorandums and correspondence
• Send recertification notices
• Other clerical/request that may be added

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of HUD & EOHLC regulations related to occupancy management
• Good communication and strong customer service skills
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office, accurate with accounting and filing systems
• Bi-lingual in Spanish and English, preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to work independently and accurately.
• Effectively work with residents and community agencies.
