Development & Fundraising Manager, P/T 25 hrs/wk
Salary: $25-$30/hr
Schedule: Mon-Fri: 10a-3p (some flexibility), Fridays are remote.
JOB OVERVIEW:
As the Development & Fundraising Manager, you will play a vital role in advancing the mission and long-term sustainability for a local non-profit by leading fundraising, donor engagement, partnership development, and resource cultivation efforts. You will work closely with the Executive Director to strengthen Client’s financial growth, expand community and corporate partnerships, and support initiatives that create equitable economic opportunities for Black entrepreneurs and businesses throughout Berkshire County. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, organizational leadership, and the ability to effectively communicate Client’s mission and impact to donors, funders, stakeholders, and community partners. The position may involve in-person meetings, attendance at networking and fundraising events, occasional travel beyond Berkshire County, and collaboration with staff, board members, consultants, and seasonal interns.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising and Donor Development
- Develop and support fundraising strategies that align with Client’s mission, organizational priorities, and long-term sustainability goals.
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with individual donors, sponsors, community supporters, and corporate partners.
- Assist with annual giving campaigns, sponsorship outreach, donor stewardship initiatives, fundraising appeals, and special fundraising activities.
- Prepare donor acknowledgment letters, impact updates, and stewardship communications to strengthen donor engagement and retention.
- Research and identify new funding opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to support organizational growth.
Grant Research and Funding Support
- Research grant opportunities from government agencies, private foundations, corporations, and philanthropic organizations.
- Support the preparation, coordination, and submission of grant proposals and required supporting documentation.
- Track grant deadlines, deliverables, compliance requirements, and reporting timelines to ensure organizational accountability.
- Collaborate with program staff and leadership to gather narratives, program outcomes, financial information, and impact data for grant applications and reports.
- Assist in maintaining organized grant files, funding records, and reporting systems.
Community Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, businesses, local leaders, institutions, and stakeholders that align with Client’s mission and strategic initiatives.
- Represent Client at community meetings, networking events, conferences, fundraising activities, and partnership discussions.
- Actively seek opportunities to establish collaborations that expand Client’s visibility, programming, and community impact.
- Support partnership engagement efforts that increase access to opportunities, supplier diversity, entrepreneurship resources, and community investment.
Event Planning and Campaign Coordination
- Assist in the planning and coordination of fundraising events, donor appreciation activities, networking opportunities, and organizational campaigns.
- Coordinate sponsorship outreach, event logistics, communications, registration processes, and follow-up activities.
- Collaborate with staff and communications personnel to support promotional efforts for fundraising campaigns, organizational initiatives, and impact storytelling.
- Support the development of marketing and outreach materials that communicate Client’s mission, programs, and accomplishments.
Reporting and Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate donor, sponsorship, and fundraising records within CRM systems, databases, and organizational tracking tools.
- Track fundraising performance metrics, donor engagement activities, sponsorships, and campaign outcomes.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to development activities and fundraising progress.
- Support the Executive Director with development updates, presentations, board reporting materials, and organizational planning efforts.
- Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and proper documentation in all fundraising and donor-related activities.
Leadership and Professional Development
- Actively contribute to the growth and sustainability of Client’s entrepreneurial and economic development ecosystem.
- Stay informed on fundraising best practices, nonprofit development trends, grant opportunities, and donor engagement strategies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to strengthen fundraising, relationship management, and nonprofit leadership skills.
- Support a collaborative and mission-driven organizational culture focused on economic empowerment and community impact.
