Director of Community Engagement Job Opening in Pittsfield, MA

Position Type:  Direct Hire
Location:  Pittsfield, MA
Salary:  $65-80k DOE


POSITION SUMMARY

TEC is recruiting for a Director of Community Engagement for a local nonprofit. The DCE is a motivated self-starter who is a leader that in collaboration with the President/CEO will elevate this organization in the community and mobilize people to give, advocate, and volunteer.


Duties & Responsibilities:


Public Relations and Marketing

  • Create and manage the organization’s brand voice and image.
  • Create and publish content on all media platforms.
  • Review social media and other marketing metrics to build and improve metrics.
  • Craft responses to customers’ feedback and messages on various media platforms.
  • Continuously design and manage the website.
  • Manage media relations to ensure accurate brand representation.
  • Develop and manage the Communication Plan.

Community Engagement/Advocacy

  • Develop and support the newly created foundation to advocate both regionally and statewide for projects, policies and resources.
  • Keep abreast of current regional, state, and national trends for this nonprofit’s goals.
  • Represent the organization through participation in local community events. 

Fundraising

  • Develop and implement a fund development plan.
  • Maintain donor database and reconcile annually to the accounting system.
  • Oversees all fundraising activities, events, and endeavors.
     

Volunteer/Event Planning

  • Manage all special events.
  • Support volunteers involved in events.
     

Other

  • Ensure effective overall administration and sound fiscal management of community engagement efforts.
  • Serve on the executive leadership team and participate in cross-organizational strategic and operational planning and oversight.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years nonprofit administrative experience.
  • Proficient use of Excel, Word, and Outlook with aptitude for other software and mobile applications required.
  • Public speaking skills and comfortable working with groups.
  • Knowledge of community groups and strong ambition to connect with groups.
  • High level of interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • High level of self-motivation and direction, creative problem-solving skills, and sound judgment required.
  • Experience working with highly sensitive, confidential information preferred. 
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
