Kitting Team Member Position in Berkshire County
Salary: $16.50/hr
Schedule: Mon-Thurs. 6a-3:30p, Friday 6a-10a
Job Summary
Responsible for creating job kits for manufacturing.
Core Responsibilities
- Creates job kits for manufacturing from Work Orders and Schedules received from the Mfg Planner.
- Pulls materials from stock.
- Processes kits on various machines as required.
- Adherence to company annual goals and KPI’s as set forth by management.
- Perform additional task as needed.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Graduate or GED
- Minimum two (2) years of experience desired in warehouse operations (shipping/receiving, picking/packing/pulling, using an ERP system), or experience operating light machinery/equipment (labelers, shrink-wrap machines, cutting tools, scales, etc.)
Mathematics Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures and manuals. Ability to write or share work information with other employees.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Basic knowledge of PC operations.
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this role involve a moderate level of activity, with standing, walking, and sitting required for approximately one-third to two-thirds of the time. Frequent use of hands for handling, as well as reaching with hands and arms, is necessary within the same time range. Minimal physical exertion is needed for climbing or balancing, as these are not required. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is expected, accounting for less than one-third of the time, along with occasional talking or hearing. The position involves lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds on rare occasions. Vision requirements include close vision for tasks requiring clear sight within 20 inches and the ability to distinguish colors accurately.
Work Environment
The work environment for this position involves occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and a slight risk of electrical shock, both occurring less than one-third of the time. The noise level in the workplace is generally moderate, requiring normal precautions for maintaining focus and communication. While some interaction with machinery or electrical components may be necessary, these risks are minimal and can be managed with proper safety protocols. The overall environment is stable, with no extreme conditions expected.
