Staff/Tax Accountant
Location: Pittsfield, Great Barrington or North Adams
Pay: $40-55k, depending on experience
Hours: M-F 8:30-4:30 + overtime during tax season Feb – April
Job Type: Direct Placement

TEC is recruiting a Staff/Tax Accountant to join a reputable Accounting firm here in the Berkshires. This position will work to develop and sustain excellent client relationships. As a member of the team, this person will assist clients by providing a full spectrum of accounting related services. This person must be able to efficiently develop the technical skills necessary to assist in all tasks associated with accounting and tax engagements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Preparation and review of businesses and individual income tax returns
• Accounting and bookkeeping projects for clients of the firm
• Direct client contact to assess and address their needs

Qualifications/Requirements:

• College degree preferred – other related working experience will be considered
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under regular time deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with digital tools used in a paperless office environment a plus
• Strong independent working skills with the ability to initiate and follow up on projects
• Ability to research complex accounting and tax issues
